Orthopaedic Surgery Call Coverage – Upper Peninsula, Michigan

Job Overview

We are assisting one of our hospital clients, an ASC-verified Level III Trauma Center in Michigan's Upper Peninsula, with securing 24-hour call-only coverage for an established orthopaedic surgery practice.

Assignment Details & Schedule

Setting: Inpatient and Outpatient (Call Only)

Schedule: 24-hour call shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 AM)

Onsite Orientation: Wednesday, November 27, 2026

Shift Block 1: 11/27/2026 – 11/29/2026 (ending 11/30 @ 07:00)

Shift Block 2: 12/19/2026 – 12/22/2026 (ending 12/23 @ 07:00)

Call Response & Volume: Beeper call; 20-minute response time required. Average 0–5 phone consults and 1–2 patients seen per 24 hours.

Scope of Practice: Emergency Department call coverage handling general orthopaedics, fractures, sports injuries, and total joints. Complex or high-acuity cases are typically transferred. No spine procedures.

Practice Support: Full surgical staff, dedicated Orthopaedic PAs, and a completely digital radiology department. General surgeons manage wound care.

EMR: MediTech

Requirements

Board Certification: Active Board Certification via ABOS required (NBPAS not accepted; Board Eligible considered if within timeframe).

Licensure: Active Michigan medical license or IMLC state designation. Must hold active MI CDS and DEA.

Privileges: Temporary privileges available (estimated 30-day credentialing timeframe).
