Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist — Locum Tenens

Job Overview

We are assisting one of our hospital clients, a Level 3 Trauma Center in Ohio, in securing full-time locum tenens coverage for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. This is an ongoing opportunity featuring a balanced block schedule in an inpatient setting.

Practice Details & Schedule

Schedule: 7-on / 7-off block coverage (Monday through Monday, 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM onsite)

Call Coverage: Nighttime beeper call during assignment weeks; extremely low call-back burden (physicians serve as 2nd call behind APPs)

Setting: 10-bed Inpatient Acute Psychiatric Unit

Patient Volume: 6–10 patients per shift (approx. 8:3 follow-up to new evaluation ratio)

EMR: Epic

Support Staff: Dedicated team including 3 PAs/NPs (APP supervision required), 4 RNs, 2 MAs, and office staff

Requirements

Board Certification: Board Certified in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry (Fellowship required)

Licensure: Active Ohio medical license or active IMLC state compact license

Certifications: Active BLS and PALS

Skills: Inpatient pharmacotherapy, managing anxiety, developmental, psychotic, and affective disorders, and familiarity with involuntary commitments
